.
Joe Root to Ross Taylor. Off break length ball, down leg side on the front foot defending, to point for no runs, fielded by Stokes. Rain delay in Hamilton, that almost ends it with the stoppage you can't see either side getting a result out of this, in the current session Taylor advances onto 105 after three boundaries in a row just before the rain stopped play, Williamson there with him on 104. The deck is flat the ball is old and not moving off the seam or in the air so runs are easy to come by and maintaining your wicket has been simple, not much for England to play for with heavy showers coming through for the next hour or so. After a couple of hours of waiting for a call the umpires finally call it a draw, New Zealand win the two match series 1-0 after winning the first game at the Bay Oval. England nearly got a result here, rain was their biggest enemy after it stopped four sessions worth of play which would've been enough for a result. Hundreds all over the place on this road with Root, Latham, Burns, Taylor and Williamson all picking up triple figure scores. As for the series, England will be happy with the batting aspect of the first innings in Hamilton, getting their first score over 400 in two years, Pope looked good in Hamilton as well, batting for a patient 75. As for the bowling, the tracks England bowled on weren't the friendliest and so judging their bowling would be unfair, I think more than anything the tempo in the field was lacking and that effected the bowling, and that allowed New Zealand to post a big score at the Bay Oval, England did get into good positions in both games but failed to seal the final couple of batters to reduce the New Zealand scores. England move onto South Africa whilst New Zealand travel to Australia for a big three test series against their biggest rivals.

SIX! Joe Root to Ross Taylor. Off break length ball, down leg side on the front foot slog sweeping, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. Taylor with a century! Class batting from him to see off the threat yesterday and score efficiently with Williamson whilst playing risk free batting, these two have put on 213 together and don't look like getting out now.

SIX! Joe Root to Ross Taylor. Off break length ball, down leg side on the front foot slog sweeping, well timed in the air under control over deep square leg for 6 runs. That six moves Taylor onto 99, huge slog-sweep, Taylor knows the rain is coming and might end the game early so he doesn't want to end it without scoring a ton.

FOUR! Joe Root to Ross Taylor. Off break length ball, down leg side on the front foot slog sweeping, well timed past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Taylor not messing about here, he wants to get his ton quickly, he heaves this one into the gap on the leg-side, not much danger involved with mid-wicket free.

FOUR! Joe Root to Kane Williamson. Off break length ball, down leg side on the front foot sweeping, well timed past fine leg for 4 runs. Sweep down the fine leg for four and Williamson gets his 21st test century! Shaky batting at times but he dug deep and did what he needed to do which was to maintain his wicket, runs have come easily on this deck and he has cashed in, terrific work from the New Zealand captain.

Joe Root to Kane Williamson. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, to mid off for 2 runs, shy attempt by Curran, overthrow by Curran, fielded by Crawley. Close run out for Williamson, he takes a suicide single, and Curran has three stumps to aim at but misses, another big moment for Williamson. With nobody backing up the ball goes past the in-field so New Zealand take an extra run.

Runs : 0 Bowler: Sam Curran Wickets : 1
129.1
W
OUT! Caught. Sam Curran to Neil Wagner. Full toss, off stump on the front foot flick, in the air uncontrolled to mid wicket, by Sibley. And that's it, Wagner with a golden duck, firing one straight to Sibley at mid-wicket, 375 at the close and a good end to the innings for England picking up quick wickets for minimal damage. Broad and Woakes put a good shift in after tea and that aided England's fight back.

OUT! Caught. Jofra Archer to Mitchell Santner. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled to deep square leg, by Woakes. Santner top-edges one into Woakes' hands and that concludes his quick and eventful innings. One more wicket for England to get, ideally before New Zealand get to 400.

W
OUT! Caught. Stuart Broad to Daryl Mitchell. Short, outside off stump on the back foot hooking, top edge in the air uncontrolled to fine leg, by Archer. Big wicket! The short ball works again, Mitchell hooks one right into the hands of Archer at fine leg, Broad has put a big shift in here to get the ball up to Mitchell's shoulders, he top-edges one and his fine knock comes to an end.

W
OUT! Caught. Stuart Broad to BJ Watling. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot Fended, Spliced in the air uncontrolled to gully, by Burns. That wicket signals the tea break, great ball from Broad to get Watling, sharp directed into his face all he can do is fend the short ball off, the ball hits the splice and Burns takes the catch at gully, a much needed wicket at the end of the session, but still New Zealand dominant in this one, England need to show some fight in the evening session if they want to tie this series up.

SIX! Joe Denly to Daryl Mitchell. Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump down the track driving, well timed in the air under control over long off for 6 runs. Class shot from Mitchell, he has smashed this down the ground for six, it's a huge one as well, cleared the rope by 30 metres, he picked the one he wanted to get after and made the most of it.

W
OUT! Caught. Sam Curran to Henry Nicholls. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot hooking, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to fine leg, by Broad. Big wicket! Nicholls is out! He hooks one straight into the hands of Broad after Curran gives him a short ball, it looks like the short one took him by surprise a bit and was late on the shot. Great start for England on this second day, two new batters in now, one on debut, it's their time to shine after a disappointing day one.

W
OUT! Bowled. Stuart Broad to Tom Latham. Seaming in length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Leave, Left to. Latham leaves one on the stumps! Great start to the day for England, they get the man they wanted, Latham. Broad gets this ball to nip in a fraction, Latham leaves on line but the ball takes the top of off and England get a much needed wicket.

W
OUT! Caught. Chris Woakes to Ross Taylor. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge in the air uncontrolled to first slip, by Root. Wicket for Woakes, Taylor after getting to fifty lets him drive one on the up, Taylor gets a healthy edge and Root takes a simple catch at first slip to give some hope for the England bowlers. Taylor taking his eye off the ball there and gives England a free wicket, big wicket to break the partnership up, England looked down and out before the breakthrough.

W
OUT! Caught. Stuart Broad to Jeet Raval. Out-swinging length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge in the air uncontrolled to first slip, by Root. Raval out! Breakthrough for England, Broad gets the opener to nick one to first slip, hint of away movement from Broad and he gets the first wicket of the day. At the start of the day not much movement so far, so it was key for England to capitalise on the bit of movement they got there.
In over# 163
Runs : 6 Bowler: Neil Wagner Wickets : 2
162.5
W
OUT! Bowled. Neil Wagner to Stuart Broad. Slower ball yorker, off stump on the front foot defending, missed to. Broad gone! His innings didn't last long, Wagner with the five-for, England with a lead of 101. Good innings from England, especially Root, Burns and Pope who all played a crucial role in England's first innings, a collapse at the end from the tail means England don't have a lead that will challenge New Zealand. Now for the home team the target is to bat and bat long, they have four sessions now to get through without any problems and with the batting they have and the pitch it looks likely they will bat out the rest of this game.
162.2
W
OUT! Bowled. Neil Wagner to Jofra Archer. Slower ball yorker, outside off stump on the front foot driving, inside edge to. Archer gone! He goes for 8 after he chops onto the stumps from a slower ball from Wagner, he will be annoyed at that because he looked good, hitting the ball cleanly, but he departs and Broad enters with England leading by 101.
162.1

OUT! Caught. Neil Wagner to Chris Woakes. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge in the air uncontrolled to wicketkeeper, by Watling. Woakes out! He edges one to Watling at keeper for a duck. Not much foot movement from Woakes as he looks to drive one through the off-side, England have had a bit of a collapse but with runs on the board they won't be too disappointed.

OUT! Caught. Mitchell Santner to Joe Root. Stock length ball, off stump down the track driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep cover, by Nicholls. Root out! A terrific innings comes to an end, Root goes big but doesn't catch the ball right. What an innings to get back on track after a few challenging matches, he looks back to his best. Root departs with England in a great position in this match.

Pope sacrifices himself for the cause here, short fierce ball from Wagner right up to Pope's head, which he can only top-edge into the hands of Raval at deep mid-wicket. OUT! Caught. Neil Wagner to Zak Crawley. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot defending, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Watling. Crawley out! W
OUT! Caught. Tim Southee to Ben Stokes. In-swinging length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, outside edge in the air uncontrolled to second slip, by Taylor. Stokes out! Big in-swinger from Southee and he gets Stokes to play at one, the all-rounder gets and outside edge onto the ball and Taylor takes the catch at slip. A premature end to the innings for Stokes, he looked in good nick before that shot.

OUT! Run Out. Neil Wagner to Rory Burns. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot working, to mid wicket for 1 run, by Watling. Big wicket! Burns with a huge error just after he gets his ton, two was the call, Burns slow for the first struggles to make his ground for the second, a long time to make the decision but the third umpire gives him out. Poor dismissal for Burns, he will be annoyed at himself for giving his wicket away so softly. The big partnership is broken, Stokes comes in now just before tea with a big 25 minutes to play. Credit to Raval his throw was the perfect height for Watling to take the bails off quickly.

OUT! Caught. Matt Henry to Joe Denly. Seaming away length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, outside edge in the air uncontrolled to wicketkeeper, by Watling. Denly out! OUT! L.B.W. Tim Southee to Dominic Sibley. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot working, hit pad to short mid wicket. Sibley gone for four, beaten all ends up trying to play one onto the on-side, nice and full from Southee and if Sibley misses he's in trouble, and he was. England at it again with a shakey top order, Denly needs to occupy the crease now.

OUT! Caught. Chris Woakes to Tom Latham. Seaming away back of a length, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, outside edge in the air uncontrolled to first slip, by Root. Latham gone! He tickles one to first slip, Root. Back of a length, Latham feels like he has to play at it and does, Root takes a simple catch, the perfect height for him to take the grab. Looks like a hint of seam away from the left-hander which drags him into playing a loose shot.
