Richmond Mutumbami

Richmond Mutumbami

Wicketkeeper-batsman Richmond Mutumbami made his first-class debut at the age of 17 and broke into the national team six years later. An injury to Regis Chakabva handed Mutumbami the chance to make his Test debut against Bangladesh in April 2013 and he acquitted himself well behind the stumps in his first five-day outing, but was less impressive with the bat, scoring 11 and 0.  His second Test saw an improved performance with the bat as Mutumbami scored 42 and the batsman now has six Test matches to his name. A one-day international debut was made possible in July 2014 against Afghanistan. That match was also Mutumbami’s most impressive to date with the bat – he scored 64 runs off 75 balls. He was part of the Zimbabwe squad which played Bangladesh in an ODI series in late 2014 and Mutumbami will hope to make his first ICC Cricket World Cup appearance in 2015.

He scored a half-century in his one-day international debut.
